  1. I was walking my dog at halftime and I actually saw the number 12 printed squarely on her droppings!!!

    Amazingly horrible.

Outside of an SEC win, that game is complete trash. We deserve to get punished by the computers and in the polls severely for performances like we have been putting up in the last few weeks after repeated "revamping" of the offenses.

Honestly that game was almost a waste of 3 hours of my life.

    Gay.

  2. Typical Peacock knee jerk reaction. I'm open for some specific tactical discussions if you are when you simmer.

  3. Typical Peacock knee-jerk reaction is exactly how most of the voters will react, so I cannot feel badly.

I do not care to entertain any conversations about this game other than the fact that it was a W. Very similar to last week vs. UGA, but worse.

Yes we have one loss in the toughest conference in the nation, but at the same time we have underachieved tremendously.

  5. Stat of the game... 391. The Gators gave up a season-high 391 total yards. Florida had been holding teams to 261 yards, good for 9th in the nation.

  6. Yeah, Vandy only averages 331 yards per game. Our D was a little softer than typcical today. On the bright side, the D held Vandy to:

93 yrds rushing (they average 157)
    3rd Down Conversions: 3/14

    Not too bad without MT.

In my opinion this was not the stat of the game.

  8. Well I am consistent, fitting with James William's "typical" comment.

So if I have to be the half-empty guy on the board, at least I always have been.

    As for X's and O's:

I do see some good things out of this game, but more mediocrity.

2 punts blocked - awesome. Converting one for a TD, granted a gimme as it was on their 5. The other, Leak handed the ball right back to them with an INT on the next immediate play.

Running game - ??? Vandy appeared to play good on the D-Line. At least we didn't only use it in the 4th quarter like against UGA. (UGA loses to KEN - wow)

Passing game - I know there was a pretty heavy cross wind down on the field, but Leak's INTs were just poor throws. The first one when he was rolling out and got caught from behind - he can't expect to have 15 seconds to throw the ball.

My biggest thing is failing to capitalize on field position and forced turnovers.

As for Marcus Thomas, very selfish of him and he has disappointed us all. He's going to go on to make millions in the NFL, but should we lose a game, you can't help but blame him to a degree. Very sad that he got the olive branch from the university and broke it.

    Yes, go ATL :)

  9. Excellent post gollum.

    * Yes, the 3 INTs are the stat of the game. Poor decisions for certain.

    * You are right, 18/25 for 237 is MUCH improved. This is a direct reflection of the game plan this week. Leak looked pretty good aside from those 3 INTs and that one option play (which I pin on the coaches since I have decided CL should never run an option play again). Yes, his 2 rush TDs were great and give him credit for 2 3rd down conversions where he put his shoulder into it.

    * I think we kept with our passing gameplan and thus you didn't see many runs. We actually rushed 33 times and passed only 28 so it was pretty balanced.

    * Harvin limped off after his one catch. Not good.

    * GREAT point on the penalties. 6/53 is much improved. I can't remember, but I think only one of them killed a drive. Is that right?

    Some additional points...

    * Caldwell (8/68) & Baker (7/135) had great games.

    * I love our play action pass calls today. We were passing out of the I-formation. CL is obviously more comfortable in this situation. We ended up with 6 drives with 7+ plays or resulting in a score. Much improved.

    * All 3 pics were in the first 3 plays of a drive. Not good. Why did they have CL throwing deep over the middle when the outs to DB worked so well? I guess it is his responsibility to move through his protection and not throw into quadruple coverage.

    * 3 big games in the last 4 weeks and 3 revamped offensive gameplans. This is the key to our inconsistency. I said it during the week and I still feel that it is too late in the season for our offense to attain any type of identity or rhythm. Good thing LSU won today, because I'm betting on close games here on out.

SEC East Champs!!!! First time since 2000... you gotta enjoy that.

  10. Consistently inconsistent = consistent I suppose.

This doesn't sound like a glass half empty comment.

Not to be cocky, but honestly, we should not even have to turn on our TVs or attend these next 4 games.

  11. Regarding penalties, we had 2 personal foul 15-yarders on one of their TD drives. Helmet-to-helmet on QB and Pass Interference on the same play they declined us being offsides.

30 yards on that one drive.

  12. OK, just refer to it as Peacock-esque - erratic.

  13. What up with all the Tebow talk and him only throwing it 3 times and not playing that much?

  14. The Leak option pass was deflected by Vandy. Not saying that as an excuse and I agree he should not run the option. Just didn't know if you knew the Vandy guy deflected it.

Yeah, I saw that too. But he pretermined his lateral while watching game film from the Georgia game. If you watch your UGA tivo you'll see him keep 2 that he clearly should have dished. He is not good at improvisation. We both agree he should not be asked to run the option anymore.

Aside from the INTs Leak was playing well in an offense that he was comfortable with. Also, aside from the kill the clock drive at the end of the game TT was 3 and out in one drive and had 1 1st down before a field goal in the other.

  17. Reggie Nelson was getting burned man-to-man. If I am not mistaken, other teams have abused him also this year.

Ok, now I know you are just being an antagonist. RFN is my boy and you know a Free Safety doesn't man up with anyone.

RFN had a great game as always. I did see him take a bad angle on a touchdown run up the gut however.

Very true. The interference was the right call. Did you agree with the face-to-face call?

  20. blah, that was an honest mistake. Two friggin Reggie's in backfield. I meant Lewis - #22, obviously not Nelson.

    Also, helmet-to-helmet was right call.

Then you must delete and correct that comment, throw 10 Hail-Marys, and laugh at 20 My Fathers. No slander on my boy RFN allowed here.

  22. Urban Meyer on the three interceptions thrown by Chris Leak:

"I thought our execution today was pretty good if you take away the three picks. But you cannot take away the three picks. It is something that he has got to work on. But we made a concerted effort to throw the ball downfield today. We matched up well at wide receiver today."

    ReplyDelete
  23. yes, ball thrown downfield a bunch. Wind was a factor, but not enough to get Leak off the hook. He almost threw another early in the game on a fly route to Cooper.

  24. That pass break up on the 2-pt. conversion attempt by Ryan Smith was $.

    And Lincoln Financial sucks.

  25. Where's the post game report ChrisT?

  26. Urban Meyer show recap: Very positive, didn't mention the 3 interceptions, mentioned being SEC east champs about 10 times, said our punt return and punt blocking is the best part of the entire team right now. He seemed pretty happy with passing game and the denfense, and of course we looked pretty good when they show only the highlights. I also didn't realize its been 5 weeks since a home game, it will definitly be nice to be playing at home again.

  27. I wish I could give a post game recap but for some reason I can not remember any of the game. The bathrooms were nice though.

  28. Urban also said that this was the first time since '90 that the Gators were going to Atlanta. I thought they editted that show. :)
