Percy Harvin led all receivers in 2009 by a wide margin with 25 tackles broken and tackles missed. (2nd was 16!!!)
A broken tackle, as defined by Football Outsiders, is either a play in which the defender has the ballcarrier wrapped up -- or a play in which the ballcarrier fakes a defender out of his jock. Subjective, but you get the point. It's a good measure of hard runners and elusive runners, at the same time.
Florida junior forward Alex Tyus announced Saturday that he has withdrawn his name from the NBA draft and will return for his senior season.
"When I began this process it was with the intent of gathering information to see what I needed to work on to one day compete at the next level, and I believe I have been successful in doing just that. I have withdrawn my name from the NBA Draft and look forward to completing my senior year at the University of Florida. We made tremendous strides as a team a year ago that I look forward to continuing to build upon,'' Tyus said in a statement released by the school.
Kenny Kadji, a 6-foot-10 backup center from Cameroon who missed the 2009-10 season with a back injury, has been granted a medical redshirt the school announced today.
Kadji will be a redshirt sophomore next season. He was rated the No. 5 center recruit in the nation by Rivals.com in 2008 and showed some promise in his freshman season.
This should get us some more height in the middle.
Two early media polls I saw (they come out after NBA deadline) have us at 10. Fox sports and CBS. I think my hopes that we start outside the top 25 are ridiculous. Murphy, Kadji, Macklin, Parsons, Tyus. That's a very deep front court.
Mens track is ranked #1, women track is rank top ten, and baseball and softball are top 5. The spring is looking good for Florida maybe we can bring a couple of championships home. Also cant forget the tennis teams are doing very well in cruising through the NCAA tournament so far.

He could come back and play of the bench with his sorry ass inconsistent play.

ReplyDeleteThe bball team should be pretty good next year. I'm excited.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite subjective. Pretty good as in Top 25 all year?

Hopefully not top 25 at the start, but once they get in I think they stay in. Yes.
ReplyDeleteDid you read that Peterson article in the Gville Sun? Pretty good.

ReplyDeleteBut will my extremely tall nemesis still be running the point. Cuz if so, all bets are off.
ReplyDeletePeterson is the bomb. However, 160 tackles. That is a lie. He was 25th in tackles in the NFL with 109. Leader had 152. Head scratch.
ReplyDeleteBoynton will be running point next year with Wilkebin (sp?) and Walker coming off the bench.
