Speaking of quarterback, Meyer said he plans to play two of them in the fall. That's sort of a revelation with everyone assuming the John Brantley era was set to begin. Meyer basically said that redshirt freshman Jordan Reed will be in on third-down short yardage situations. The 6-foot-3 Reed is a converted quarterback who had been working at tight end in the spring. Now there are reports Reed has been working in the Wildcat and throwing some passes as well. And Meyer loves him.
"I think we do (plan to play two quarterbacks) because we have to," Meyer told Florida Today. "On third down and three I know what we want to do and Johnny's (Brantley) probably not going to do it just because he's not that kind of player. Everybody said we just ran Tim because he was a great player. That's partially true ... Jordan Reed has proven he can do it."
Cuz our main RBs are edge RBs and Moody has been gimpy all spring. We have no I-Formation RB, thus the need for the hybrid. But yeah, you'd think we could run a traditional play there.
ESPN is reporting that former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has signed a shoe and apparel deal with Nike that will pay him a minimum of just less than $300,000 a year, with incentives that could earn him significantly more.
$325k is the league minimum for rookies this year. He will obviously sign a team contract far exceeding that, but he is pretty much at league minimum already in just a base endorsement deal.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida running back Jeff Demps has the fastest 100-meter time in the world this year.
Demps, running in the Florida Relays in Gainesville on Friday, covered the distance in 10.11 seconds. Nesta Carter of Jamaica had the previous fast time of 2010. He ran 10.15 in late January.
No more MUD BOWL! The Citrus bowl will save face and install artificial turf because their ground crews are typical Orlandoians and can't find a dump trunk rolling through a nitroglycerine plant!
Although Major Wright was not selected by the Bears until the 3rd round, he was their first pick of the draft, as they had none in the first two rounds.
Funny stuff. Packer fan decides to not to retire yet from drinking!
ReplyDeleteWhy must you be AWOL Carl Moore?
ReplyDeleteDLee triple double. 37 pts, 20 rebs, 10 assts, 1 blk !
ReplyDeleteDamn!!! That guy is so damn pimp.
ReplyDeleteHopefully he can go to a good team next year.
ReplyDeleteIf they get Lebron, he will just stay right where he is.
ReplyDeleteI hope not cause I hate Lebron but him and D Wade can team up.
ReplyDeleteThose are sick numbers.
ReplyDeleteA Leak/Tebow '06 Hybrid for this year?

Why do we let the running backs just run the ball on short yardage situations.

ReplyDeleteMeyer prefers the wildcat because it gives us one more man in the box.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to be the only man in the box if you know what I mean.

4x100 team I believe set the second fastest time for the world this year.
ReplyDeleteDavid Lee is the first NBA player to score at least 30 point, grab 20 board and have 10 assists since Kareem Abdul Jabar in 1979.
ReplyDeleteWow!!!
Gator NBA Rebound Per Game Ranks:
ReplyDelete2) Lee - 11.9
11) Horford - 9.7
25) Haslem - 8.0
Noah - 10.7 (Would be 9th but is not officially ranked due games missed to injury lack of minutes, etc...)
you forgot
ReplyDelete1) Christ- 193.7 per game
anyone go to the orange and blue?
ReplyDeleteJeffrey, are you going to let SI slide with this??
ReplyDeleteCincy routed the Gators??
Great find James and yes I'm gonna let em roll with that. That's hilarous. I bet the other sports sites are having a great laugh as well.
ReplyDeleteBTW if you don't watch the NBA, but will watch the playoffs, they begin this weekend.
ReplyDelete#8 Chicago is playing Cleveland so Noah fireworks will be great. (Chris Richard is also on this team, but will be keeping the bench warm.)
#5 Miami is playing Boston and Udonis will be throwing mouthpieces.
#3 Atlanta is playing Milwaulkee and Horford will be doing knee pull up dunks.
Bonner is in with #7 San Antonio and will be as awkward looking as ever.
Anthony Roberson, Matt Walsh and Christian Drejer will be playing tonsil hockey with men.
No more MUD BOWL! The Citrus bowl will save face and install artificial turf because their ground crews are typical Orlandoians and can't find a dump trunk rolling through a nitroglycerine plant!
ReplyDeleteGruden video with Tebow: Link
ReplyDeleteMike Rosario signs. Getting a lot of good buzz.
ReplyDeleteYeguete also signed. Good news.
ReplyDeleteI perhaps may become excited about basketball news, but not until they say that expansion will NEVER happen.
ReplyDeletePeacock's Tebow prediction - At worst #30 to the Vikings. I do see a team trading up to get him anywhere from #20 though.
ReplyDeleteSo bottom line I say Tebow is gonna get picked in the first round.
My prediction holds true. Go Gators and Tebow still in Orange and Blue!!!
ReplyDeletelooks like the jaguars may sell out a game as there home opener is against the broncos and timmy back in jax
ReplyDeleteAll you JAX fans better enjoy the next few years, cuz there won't be many more.
ReplyDeleteThe piss and whining about how awful a pick Tebow was is so glorious!!!
ReplyDelete!!! No one on Denver has #15. A WR they traded away last week had it. I'd imagine Timmy gets it!!!
ReplyDeletejust saw on the local news tim will get the #15
ReplyDeleteAlthough Major Wright was not selected by the Bears until the 3rd round, he was their first pick of the draft, as they had none in the first two rounds.
ReplyDeleteThey are saying he will start right away.
Man, I had to search hard for this:
ReplyDelete2010 Undrafted Gator signees to NFL teams:
Ryan Stamper - Detroit
Brandon James - Indy
Those are the only two I saw that got picked up.
