  1. INDIANAPOLIS -- Anyone criticizing Urban Meyer evidently must go through Tim Tebow.

The Florida quarterback vigorously defended his college coach Sunday at the NFL Scouting Combine amid rumblings that Meyer chose winning over adjusting Tebow's throwing motion to make it NFL-ready.

i dont get it isnt winning more important than tebows throwing motion??

  2. Here is your definition James.

    Ham And Egger:

A common person who might be seen eating ham and eggs. Not posessing many spectacular qualities. Your 'average joe'.

Ex. Some ham and egger came into my work today.

  3. I have really tried to like this team and I know they are not a bunch of blue-chippers, but seriously, way to close it out and home for the rowdy reptiles guys.

    Lame.

  4. Peacock, I think the correct saying is "green egg and hammers".

  5. For those of you convicting Wondy Pierre-Louis for domestic battery before he was even charged:

He initially faced five charges (domestic battery by strangulation, burglary, domestic battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment and obstruction of justice/tampering with a witness), but they were all dropped.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well I never convicted him. I just said he was worthless besides that one awesome play in the SECCG vs. Arkansas. He is the Haitian Sensation after all.

However, he could also be the Haitian O.J.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yes, but that one awesome play was so choice!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. The "experts" are saying we need to make it to the semis in the SEC tourney to be in, which would mean wins over Auburn and Miss. State.

Otherwise, prob. a #1 seed in the NIT again.

    ReplyDelete
  9. If the Gators win on Thursday I will be going to the game on Friday and also have Sunday off so if some how the make the final I will be there also. Anyone want to come with

    ReplyDelete
  10. Awesome Chris! I hope they win on Thursday. Auburn is terrible, so I think we win.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Another thing to root for this week is no major upsets by other bubble teams. We need to remain on top of the at-large teams.

I have viewed a few brackets on major sports sites and they have us in already as a 9 seed. I still think we need to beat Auburn and Miss. State though. A loss to Auburn might seal our fate, a) because it doesn't allow us to advance in the SEC tourney, but probably more damaging is that it would be to Auburn who is 6-10 in conference play and 15-16 overall.

    ReplyDelete
  12. ESPN has us as a 11 seed against Baylor which would be a rough first game.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I thought it was Butler Bruce

    ReplyDelete
  14. I agree with Chris, but who cares, just make it Gators!!! You better win tonight.

  15. While former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow wowed evaluators with his on-field performance at the NFL combine last month, he scored a 22 out of 50 on the Wonderlic test, the Palm Beach Post reported, citing an NFL source.

The 12-minute test measures an individual's learning and problem-solving abilities.

According to the Post, the average Wonderlic score for an NFL quarterback is 24. The newspaper also reported that the quarterback prospects in Mel Kiper Jr.'s latest rankings on ESPN.com -- Sam Bradford of Oklahoma (36), Colt McCoy of Texas (25) and Jimmy Clausen of Notre Dame (23) -- scored higher than Tebow.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I do not give credence to a test that Percy bombed last year yet then went on to win Rookie of the Year and make the Pro Bowl.

The article goes on to say that McNabb got a 15. I don't think the Eagles are complaining.

Why doesn't the article read "Jimmy Clausen scores below average on the Wonderlic." It's cuz nobody cares about him, that's why.

    Wonder lick my balls.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yea just thought Tebow would do better they actually say that the people who score higher dont do better. I think they said Marino scored a 14.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The test is kind of like this Bruce:

Bruce is a good bomb detector and detonates them safely, consequently he would be a great chef.

It is unsubstatial rubbish created just to give analysts something to analyze.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Listening to the game on the radio and you can hear the frustration with this team in his voice.

    ReplyDelete
  20. So with your logic Peacock Mike is a great chef that would make him great at bomb detector and can detonate them safely.

    ReplyDelete
  21. now you understand the logic behind the wonderlic Chris.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Despite the valiant comeback attempt - garbage is a kind description. Chris, I feel for you my man. Hopefully you snuck in a flask of whiskey.

  23. M. State beats Vandy today and I think we are toast. We need as few upsets as possible in all of these conference tourneys to possibly put our sorry asses in the Big Dance.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Could not make the game was ready to head down there and then had something pop up for work and by the time I got done with it I did not have to make it for the game. Houston just won the conference tournament which took a spot from the bubble teams, cant have to many more of those or we are done and not going to make it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. We are gonna be on the "First Four Out" list and get a #1 seed in the NIT. You can book it.

Lost 4 of our last five, that crap ass South Alabama loss, a lot of conference tournament upsets and oh, we are a pretty lousy team.

Not to shred em, but they don't deserve it this year.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Somehow pulled off a 10 seed Vs BYU

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just woke up from a and saw that. Unbelievable.

Well hope they play like they belong there. A game vs. #2 K. State would be nice to make and maybe pull an upset.

    Gators, good luck.

  30. Gators pro day is tomorrow. Tebow will be using his new throwing motion. I guess they plan on a big enough crowd that they will be opening up the concessions for it. Good quote from an ESPN article "My general Tebow rule of thumb: Never, ever underestimate him. Some team will make that mistake on draft day. And regret it."

  31. “What these kids have done, and the changes and the growth that I've seen, it will go down for me as one of the special group of guys that I've coached,” Donovan said.

But they are still "Lame. 3/02/2010 09:09:00 PM" to JWP.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think he means short-bus "Special."

    ReplyDelete
  33. No brackets for me Bruce... don't to have to jinx the Gators. They've got enough problems without me messing them up!

    ReplyDelete
  34. From 1991 to 1993, Duke won 13 straight NCAA tournament games, the second-longest streak ever. Florida has a chance to match that streak with a first-round win over BYU. The Gators haven't played in the NCAA tournament since winning back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007. That means that UF still has an active 12-game win streak. Interestingly, with North Carolina not in the field, no other team in the 2010 bracket is on a tournament win streak. The longest tourney win streak of all time? Let's just say that the Gators shouldn't hold their breath. UCLA won 38 straight as part of its seven straight titles in the '60s and '70s.

  35. Erving Walker aside, I applaud the team for a great effort and making it a great game.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Erving Walker gave good effort. He's just not the point guard that we need and he never will be.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Not too bad of a season. Looking forward to next years team. Dan Werner did not impress me this year seemed like he always turned the ball over, made lots of TOs, and did not score much. The only thing he did well this year was play defense. He is our only senior and I dont think we are losing much. Besides his experience from being there I dont think he has brought much more.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I guess I said he made turn overs twice there. I meant to say he made lots of bad passes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. nfl now allows other team to get the ball back in overtime if they kick a fieldgoal but not score a touchdown and this is only for the playoffs this is stupid you base the games on a cointoss in overtime why cant they do it like college nfl sucks

  40. Report: Donovan offered $3 million by St. John's alum
According to the New York Daily News, St. John's alumnus Mike Repole, who was co-founder of Vitaminwater, was involved in offering Florida coach Billy Donovan $3 million a year to become the new coach there.

Donovan is from Long Island and there were thoughts, apparently, that he might come home with the right offer. The Gators' coach, however, makes closer to $3.5 million per year at UF and returns his entire starting lineup for the 2010-11 season.

The Daily News claimed, through a source, Donovan politely turned the offer down.

Norm Roberts was recently fired as the St. John's coach after six seasons. Florida and St. John's officials have not commented publicly about the report.

There have also been published reports in Oregon that school officials there are also interested in talking to Donovan.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I could see him going to St. John's since they are a decent BB school and being thats where he grew up by why in hell would he go to Oregon. I'm not even sure they have a BB team (jk I know they do). That would be like Urban going to Vandy to coach make no sense.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bruce... can't argue with your comments on Werner. He didn't pan out to be the player that we recruited. Unexplicably lost his ability to shoot the ball somewhere after his freshman season.

Next year should be good if BD stays and we get a real point guard (or a athetic 2 guard so we can move KB to point).

  43. nfl does not compare to cfb Mike... right you are.

  44. Hodge's NC ring for sale on ebay for $12,500. Sad.

  45. Gators' Shipman will transfer
Florida sophomore guard Ray Shipman, a former state prep player of the year, has requested and been granted his release so he can transfer to another school

    ReplyDelete
  46. sad indeed on Hodge. All his boys made the dough and he was unfortunately just a role player. A nice role player though.

  47. Check out Robbie Andreu's story on the Gainesville Sun breaking down the incident. Problably the best insight you will get.

  48. It is hilarious reading the huge parity in articles concerning this issue even amongst major sports sites. One site will make it look like we dropped a nuke on innocent people in Tibet and the other will make it look like we solved all of Haiti's problems by sending them a Teddy Bear.

    Great stuff.

  49. The Orlando Sentinel is totally playing the victim card big time. They have "Urban Meyer threatens reporter Jeremy Fowler" on their front page as their second story to the lead.

Yellow Journalists probably hiring and ambulance chasing trial lawyer. I shyte on that paper.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Where are all you little girls? I am talking to myself here per usual. No comments?

    ReplyDelete
  51. As is typically the case, you have immersed yourself into this way more than is necessary. :) Is Tebow going to win the He15man?

    Here is Jeremy Fowler's take.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Deonte was "very broken up about his comments" because Fowler and the other media hacks draw Tebow's name into the conversation although he has no involvement in the issue just to get people's attention to read the article.

It is because Fowler included Tebow's name that Deonte was upset. Fowler or the Sentinel's choice of using Tebow to lure readers caused the whole issue.

  53. This incident has tremendous positive recruiting results.

    1) The new recruits feel balls ass good about their coach having their back.

    2) You have a white coach sticking up for a black player.

    I love college football drama.

  58. Nice find Chris! Love it.

How much $$ you wanna bet that The Peacock had to scroll down to see who Player F was?

    ReplyDelete
  59. He is still trying to figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The fact that tim tebow was listed in the url kind of gave it away.

    ReplyDelete
  61. So you didn't scroll down before you came to that part in the article?

    ReplyDelete
  62. No, the moment I copied the link and saw Tebows name in the actual URL, it was obvious who the mysterious player F was.

Not to mention, is Chris going to post an article about Bradford, McCoy or Claussen on here?

    ReplyDelete
  63. He could have been player A and the point of the article could have been still been the same.

    ReplyDelete
  64. dude, I was just gonna post that. That guy is completely awesome. Now that was $180 per person worth admission.

  65. From CNNSI's Peter King Monday Morning QB article:

    Tweet of the Week
    "Does Tebow sponsor your page?''

-- @lizmatthews12, Liz Matthews of Seattle, apparently perturbed by the amount of attention I am paying to Tim Tebow in pre-draft coverage. Liz, you are not alone in that thought.

No on the sponsorship, but from what I hear, he'll be able to afford to when his new contract with a very big sports equipment and apparel manufacturer is announced very soon.
