Tim Tebow wouldn't win a Theismann trophy By The Times-Union and AP Story updated at 3:12 AM on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010
Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann, now a broadcaster with the NFL Network, caused a stir on radio row in Miami on Thursday in an interview with Jacksonville radio station WJXL (1010 AM).
Theismann said former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow shouldn't even try being an NFL quarterback, and that he should have retired after his college career ended, with “rock-star status preserved,” Theismann said.
“Obviously at Florida they don't teach throwing the football,” Theismann said to host Mike Dempsey, pointing blame at UF coach Urban Meyer and his staff.
Tebow spent Thursday in Washington, delivering the closing prayer at the National Prayer Breakfast, which was attended by President Barack Obama.
According to the Wilmington News Journal, Bear, Del., seventh-grade quarterback David Sills committed Thursday night to accept a football scholarship from USC.
The 13-year-old, who attends Red Lion Christian Academy, told delawareonline.com "my heart was beating so fast" when he talked to Kiffin.
Red Lion high school varsity coach Eric Day confirmed that Kiffin recently offered the teen a scholarship, and that Sills committed, according to the Wilmington paper.
kiffins a joke he probably wont even be around in 2015 when the kid enters college
"Tebow will be in a SuperBowl commercial for a Christian Organization. It is rumored that it will probably be an anti-abortion message given his own birth story.
This could be just the beginning of some people turning their backs on him."
James, he is not a reserve. He got screwed. Horford made it as a reserve, which means made the team but not a starter. Lee can only make the team if someone gets injured or something like that and the commish chooses him. Lee is not an alternate or anything. There is no such thing.
Lee was selected to his first All-Star team yesterday by NBA commissioner David Stern. Lee replaces Allen Iverson, who is skipping the game due to an illness in his family.
___
Horford was an initial reserve and Lee made the roster due Iverson dropping out. I don't understand your point James?
Your first post about the 2009-2010 Gator basketball team is not allowed to be about the NIT. If you posted something positively previously and I missed it then I apologize.
:), ok... Your first post about the 2009-2010 Gator basketball team (not about a buzzer beater win) is not allowed to be about the NIT. If you posted something positively previously and I missed it then I apologize.
"I would have to say that I agree with the protest, not because I am pro-choice, but because I don't need a political message in my face while I am drinking beer."
With your ticky tack calls I didn't touch you at all. I didn't touch your hand man you know its all ball. THe name me the song is appropriate too guy.:)
Great game today getting it inside to Macklin. I don't know why we don't do that more except I suspect that maybe Ole Miss is just smaller up front.
We controlled the whole game but were still down by 2 with 1 minute remaining and kept our composure. Kudos to Walker for all the free throws in that last minute.
In an effort to quiet his critics and refine his game, former Gators quarterback Tim Tebow is changing the way he holds a football, shifting it from his waist to his shoulder.
He is concentrating on taking three- and five-step drops instead of working out of the shotgun formation he did at Florida
Florida: The Gators are desperately trying to end a two-year run in the NIT with an NCAA bid. The win at Ole Miss was huge in that process. But the schedule is daunting with games against Tennessee, at Georgia, Vanderbilt and at Kentucky.

Watched the bball game last night almost until the end of the first half before turning in for the night. Our perimiter defense was making me vomit on myself. The amount of uncontested threes was unbelievable.
Glad to see they turned it around in the second half. I was surprised to see it tied at the half.
I was impressed with our outside in game. Not much if any inside out in the first half.
Anyway, big win and I thought they played really well offensively.
I really believe we just don't flop against UGA and we can just go balls out and whatever happens happens vs. Vandy and UK and we win like one game in the tourney and we are in. Huge win. I think we lost that game last night and our NIT ticket was sealed.
That sucks that would have been something cool to go to. I wanted to get down to where he has been training at the last month or so cause its only about an hour a way but never got a chance.
So hope Kentucky flops in the tourney. Their coach was quoted as saying that the SEC title meant NOTHING. Seeding was all that mattered. I crap on you Calipari.
Every time I think the BB team has turned the corner and will stop losing these games they should win they end up losing it somehow. Man they frustrate me.
A lot of people were picking this upset. Not that it makes it any easier. Georgia beat GT, TENN, VANDY, SCAR, and the Gators at home this year. They barely lost to VANDY on the road in OT last week.
South Carolina and UGA are the worst two teams in the SEC East and we lost to UGA twice and to SCAR once, beating them the other time on an insane buzzer beater. Poop icing on the resume.
Well then let's just go ahead and eliminate the college basketball regular season entirely.

Wow, that Tebow ad is gonna cause a major stir. How could they possibly air something so extreme and graphic?
ReplyDelete"Tebow will be in a SuperBowl commercial for a Christian Organization. It is rumored that it will probably be an anti-abortion message given his own birth story.
ReplyDeleteThis could be just the beginning of some people turning their backs on him."
They portrayed it to be an ad of immense brain washing. Well the marketing obviously worked.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't even sure that was the real commercial after watching it. Didn't seem very controversial to me.

I hear the NIT calling the Gator men's hoops team. The ringing is increasing in volume as each day passes.

ReplyDeleteChandler Parsons South Carolina game on blog and at length on a phone call. Apology accepted punk!

ReplyDeleteYou're like Foghorn Leghorn, Yosemite Sam
ReplyDeleteYou're just yellin' and wildin' wondering who I am
We lost today and we were history. Slim thread stays alive.

Still hangin on.
Ole Miss was a bubble forecast team as were we. Currently most analysts say we lead the First Out group.
ReplyDeleteStill room for success.
Did anyone watch the USA vs Canada hockey game the game was awesome back and forth the whole time.
ReplyDeleteChris, I watched some and followed the end on my phone. Sweet stuff.

ReplyDeleteIf they can win 2 of their last 4 and then 2 in the tournament I think they will be in.
ReplyDeleteI agree Chris, however I will say that it matters who we play in the tourney. If we beat two scrubs, that might not be enough.
ReplyDeleteIf we are a worthy I say we need to win 3 of our final four. We CANNOT lose to UGA and must win two of our three games vs. UT, Vandy and Kentucky.

Thanks for the laugh Jamie.
ReplyDeleteYou made no mention of my accolades whilst on the UF sleep team.
ReplyDeletePlease elaborate James.
Your collegiate accolades whilst commendable do not guarantee professional success.
ReplyDeleteCollege = Not Pro. I did all my stuff unpaid and as a walk on and I get no props?!?

If we play like that again against vandy I think we beat them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right. Either way, it was fun to watch them last night.
ReplyDeletetook next saturday off to go to this tebow autograph signing at the mall find out today you have to buy tickets to it for $160
ReplyDelete$160! Where are the proceeds going?
ReplyDeleteit said part of it is going to his foundation but still charge $20 or something most people and kids could afford
