Miami of Ohio Postgame

  1. Only good thing I saw was Jenkins he was all over the place. Besides that Pouncey Horrible, Receivers looked slow on deep routes, Brantley off target alot, running backs couldnt get out of the back field till the 4th quarter, and our kicking was horrible. Just a couple things to work on this week. I think those snaps may have just killed Brantley mentally.

  3. “I take full credit for messing up the whole offense,” Pouncey admitted after the game. “It was all on me. I’m the leader of the offense and I let the guys down. I’m going to work my ass off and it won’t happen again. The ball just kept slipping out of my hand. I don’t know how the hell, but it just kept slipping out. We’ll have it fixed by next week. We’ve got USF so we’ll be looking forward to it. […] When we did get stuff going, I f—ed up the snap. And then when we did get stuff going again, s–t, we just kept fumbling. It won’t happen again. [...] It was my fault. I’m going to get in here in the morning to fix it. The ball kept slipping out. [...] I’m glad it happened in this kind of game – a game that we could have just went out there and won – but if we do it next week we won’t win the game. We weren’t worrying about [Miami] beating us.”

  4. That was a hot, miserable game. It should be illegal to have noon games in Florida, and I have to sit though another one in just a few days.

Towards the end of the third quarter (I think) after we had the fumble during one of our few good drives, I watched Brantley go sit on the benches by himself on the sidelines. Soon after Meyer took off his headset and went and sat beside him. For about 5 minutes they just sat together and talked. I liked seeing Meyer give his QB some extra support during a rough first start and just wanted to share what I saw.

  5. RA, I protest all noon non SEC games as I work outside in this damn heat five days a week and refuse to do it for a sixth vs. some crap team. The couch with A/C and beverages and a bathroom at hand are bonus.

Regarding your comments about Meyer/Brantley, they showed that on TV too, not for five minutes though. Did you see any Red Baron promotions?

  6. I like the noon games. I dont have to wake up at 4am to watch them. They are on at 830pm here. Perfect time.
