  2. Obviously just sports hosts blabbering but there is increasing talk about the Jags taking Tebow no matter where they are in the draft. They are currently 4-4, and I'd say they'd probably get about 4 more wins at least.

The Jags are averaging just above 40k fans/game and all of their games are blacked out. There are rumors about the team being moved to L.A.

There is also speculation that the Jags will try to go after Meyer too.

    Just passing along local rumors.

  3. If only these guys could come back and we could have an All-Star team:

    NBA rebounds:

    Noah - 8th
    Lee - 13th
    Haslem - 14th

    NBA blocks:

    Noah - 7th
    Horford - 8th

    NBA steals:

    Brewer - 7th

  4. Les Miles better get a fine from the SEC for questioning the refs call on what should have been an INT for them.

He was right and I can't believe the replay booth got it wrong, but he questioned the call to the media.

    Slap him down Slive.

  6. The 2009 Florida senior class, with a 44-6 record, has a chance to become the winningest class in SEC history. The conference record of 45 wins is shared by the 1996 Florida senior class, the 1994 Alabama senior class, Tennessee’s 1998 seniors and the 2005 Georgia seniors.

  7. Tim Tebow tied former Georgia running back Herschel Walker’s Southeastern Conference record for total touchdowns when he scored his 52nd career TD on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

  12. Good for you coach. Screw the haters!!!

    ___

Urban Meyer skipped out on his weekly teleconference with reporters on Sunday. Maybe Florida's coach was busy. Maybe he was just sick and tired of defending his undefeated team. Maybe there is just nothing left to say.

  15. Random thought on the LSU non interception call. Why the heck do people keep saying he got BOTH feet in bounds. Even the dang announcers did so. And they say it not to say well he didn't just get one, he got two for emphasis, they say it as if it was two or nothing. This is not the NFL.

    Just Sayin.

  16. I have sent the below text to the e-mails of Dooley, Bianchi, the Orlando Sentinel and the Miami Herald. Hoping to get some feedback.

    ___

Thank you for taking time to read my e-mail.

I have a question regarding how the SEC determined the dollar figure of the fine they gave Urban Meyer for simply answering a question regarding officiating. I am aware of the fine/suspension clause that Mike Slive made the week prior. How did they come up with $30k. Is it a percentage of salary? Is it a flat-rate fine? Do they spin a bingo ball wheel?

Also, I believe Les Miles made some unprovoked comments in his postgame presser in Alabama in which he said that he thought that Patrick Patterson intercepted that ball and the play should have been ruled as such. Isn't that questioning the officiating? Also, he brought up the topic unprovoked and Meyer did his mild criticizing only after having been asked a direct question. Why did Les Miles not get fined?

Also what is more headscratching is Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith getting into a physical altercation with Deangelo Hall of the Washington Redskins on the sidelines during the game and only getting a $15k fine by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

I'm sure you've seen the clip, but here it is:

Atlanta Falcons Coach altercation with Washington Redskins player

I am hoping you can answer how the SEC determines any fine amount and how an NCAA coach is fined 2x as much as an NFL coach when his actions were mildy verbal vs. inappropriately physical.

    Thanks for your time,
    Jeff in Orlando

  21. I heard some joker on the Dan Patrick show this morning spouting off about the same stuff Peacock wrote about. This kid sounded like a complete buffoon. Dan Patrick laughed at the kid the whole call and was so dumbfounded afterward that he couldn't find any words to comment.

  22. Funny you say that, cuz I recall making a phone call during that time period and saying similar things.

  23. Got on the air on The Dan Patrick Show today with my question. If my call is on the below link it'd be toward the end after they come back from a break after having had Rick Neuheisal playing the guitar.

Unfortunately you cannot scroll toward the end, you have to listen to the entire hour. However it is not a full hour as there are no commercials.
