So a colleague just posted part of the local paper with a picture of Urban Meyer. Her husband highlighted this quote, "Urban Meyer, Florida football coach, who has endured 24 arrests involving Gators players over the past four years". On the top he wrote, This is what it means to be a Gator??
I need to find stats on OSU players. Anyone know where I can find that info?
Meyer was participating in a charity golf tournament when he asked the tournament host if he could make an announcement. He then said: "I'm not going to Notre Dame. Ever. I'm going to be the coach at Florida for a long time, as long as they want me," according to the Gainesville Sun.
If anyone knows for sure that they plan to attend the Kentucky game and would like me to get them a ticket in the Columbus Gator Club block, please let me know by July 27. Tickets are $40 each.
From my CBS fantasy site - Meyer on Harvin in the NFL:
Percy Harvin, WR MIN News: In an interview with CBSSports.com, University of Florida coach Urban Meyer said Thursday he expects big things from Vikings rookie WR Percy Harvin, a former Gator. "I think everyone knows how I feel about him," Meyer said. "I have done this for a long time, and I've seen him do things I've never seen anyone else do. It was exciting to coach him and put together a game plan with him on your side." Meyer said Harvin can be used in a variety of ways with the Vikings. "I think he can do it all. Running back, wide receiver, special teams," Meyer said. "I think the thing that most surprises me about him is pound for pound the strength that he has. His combination of strength and speed makes him a threat in any position. If he gets the ball, he's going to make something
Harvin signed a 5 year deal with the Vikings this weekend. He said he spent the last couple weeks practicing with Tebow since he could not be at training camp.
A new six-year, $24 million contract for Meyer was finalized Monday, taking his total financial package to $4 million per year and making him the SEC's highest-paid coach in 2009.
