Can anyone find factual info. on who the highest drafted Gator into the NFL was?
I see Gerrard Warren @ #3 as the highest, but can't find data to support it.
In the NBA, I see Neal Walk was drafted #2 overall in '69 right after Kareem!!!
Quick tidbit on Walk from Wikipedia:
In 1988, it was discovered that he had a benign tumor enveloping his spine. Following surgery, Walk was left in a wheelchair, from which he played wheelchair basketball for the L.A.-Phoenix Samaritans in the Southern California league of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.[1] In 1990, Neal Walk was honored at the White House by President George H. W. Bush as the "Wheelchair Athlete of The Year."
The 2007 BCS Championship game was won by Florida over Ohio State (41-14. The Gators subtly remind you of this with a holographic 3-D cover featuring their championship rings, the championship trophy and Meyer receiving a Gatorade bath.
The Buckeyes break the news of their defeat on page 63. The only other substantive mention of that game in the Ohio State guide is on page 138, in a recap of the school's bowl history.

Did you know that there is no such thing as Division I-A and I-AA anymore.
ReplyDeleteHere's what it is now:
The major conference level formerly known as Division I-A is now the Football Bowl Subdivision. Or Bowl Subdivision. Or FBS.
What once was Division I-AA is now the Football Championship Subdivision.
